In July, the Sonfire Youth group experienced an intense week of workship and work in New Orleans, Louisiana. The group, which included sixteen youths and five adult leaders, spent most of the week restoring homes that were damanged by the flood waters of Hurricane Katrina. The group also donated a day of work to an organization called Operation Green Light, which brings energy efficient light bulbs to the people of New Orleans. Opportunities to visit the French Quarter, a bayou, and experience the local cuisine, music and culture, rounded out the trip. Below are several pictures taken during the trip.
